I found this lesson to be extremely helpful for giving concrete examples of how to mix up a boomerang lesson. I was talking to a friend of mine who is a teacher and I described this method and my friend said that it reminded her of how she teaches and she explained a little bit of the advantages. She said sometimes it's better to just let them jump in, flounder, and then use their mistakes to guide instruction. She also said that sometimes boomerang lessons happen "by accident" because you think you've prepared so well, but then problems arise you never considered and you have to revisit the whole process with the new information you've learned. So I can see how this is a way to fix and address issues that crop up along the way. As far as using creative materials, I feel this unit got me excited about planning different creative activities.
