Having conditionals puts quite a lot into perspective as someone speaks English. It's not that they have that particular item or characteristic, but it shows either possibility or impossibility. When it comes to reported speech, it is important to know what time is being referred to and whether or not the action has been completed or is still yet to be. When the student decides to speak in third person singular or plural, it comes in handy for accuracy and correct interpretation. I have learnt that it is easy to get misunderstood if the wrong conditionals or time frames are placed and can bring division amongst communicators.
