The setting of an education is just as important as the education itself. If a student is not comfortable in their environment they will never learn. That is why things like eye contact and hand gestures are very important. They show attentiveness. In turn, for showing your attentiveness for the student, they should recuperate. A teacher should be flexible and able to adapt to a student's needs but they also need to be concise, organized and make sure students stay on track. At times discipline is necessary. This is easier to do if the teacher has already been established as the guiding force of the classroom. In short, be kind and fun, but don't let the class forget you are not a friend but a mentor. Ultimately you are here to teach. Make sure students aren't bored but also stay on the point, incorporate student's opinions into lesson plans. Be open to adapting plans as you go but ultimately assure the core is always present. Ways to keep classes interesting is by adjusting seating and the way classmates interact with each other. Whether it is as a whole group, smaller groups, pairs, or individual work.
