Articles specify if the object is something in general or something specific. A man or the man. We can tell what article to choose based on if our noun is a countable or uncountable noun. Comparatives compare two things using adj + er or (if more then one syllable) more + adj. Superlatives compare an individual item to a group of things and us adj + est or (if more then three syllables) most + adj. Verbs fall into two categories. Transitive and intransitive. Transitive verbs are followed by an object or subject. Ex he invited her. Some exceptions follow with words that can fall into both categories like eats. You can specify what is eaten or just state she eats. Intransitive verbs are not followed by objects. Ex. Go, sleep, fall. Infinitives are used to refer to actions as a whole. Are similar to gerunds except it is written as to go or to cry. to + verb. Auxiliary verbs are like filar words that usually help form tenses. Ex is was been. She is crying. She was crying. She had been crying. Adverbs describe verbs. Frequency, place, time, manner, degree.
