I have learned that there are 12 tenses total divided among 3 main tenses in English. This amount of tenses can be somewhat difficult for foreign speakers as not all other languages share that about of tenses. I have found it useful in this unit to systematically break down the parts of speech in sentences to identify the different tenses. For example if you are looking to identify the present continuous or present perfect continuous tense, you can look for the -ing ending.
