Pronunciation and phonology is an extremely complicated thing to teach in a classroom, and this chapter helped me understand the nuances of the English language that could go unnoticed by the English learner. I'm not sure how much of this information I could directly display in an English classroom. For example, teaching an English learner the difference between a plosive and fricative sound seems a bit out of place in the classroom, but somehow still necessary. Thus, the new challenge for me is to clearly display the information while still working towards a clearer and more concise understanding of the material.
