Reading the introduction of this unit took away a lot of anxiety I was feeling prior. This is because I am mostly an introverted person, someone who is shy, but still eager to teach students English. This unit assured me that I don't have to be afraid and taught me about how to have confidence in teaching and maintaining a classroom. Again, my biggest fear was being too afraid to maintain discipline in the classroom that I would end up not having a great rapport with my students. Unit 5 discusses how to maintain good eye contact with student, but not to much that it will intimidate students, gestures, how to not use too much of teacher talking time, and overall how to have a good rapport with the class. I do wish it discussed a little bit more about student talking time that didn't always involve working as a group. Lastly, I liked this unit more because while reading through it, I thought more about my psychology degree and how I could put it to use when trying maintain a good relationship with my students and how to especially help them with behavioral problems.
