This unit has helped me differentiate between various forms of present tenses. Basically there are 3 tenses based on the times in English.These are the past(yesterday);the present (today) and the future (tommorow).All tenses including present tenses have four aspects namely: simple,continuous,perfect and perfect continuous. As a result there are twelve tenses in total.
I have learnt that tense can be used in affirmative or negative forms or regular or contracted forms. These have contractions whereas there are no contractions in question forms of the tenses.
Present tenses can easily confuse students and for this reason the teacher should,by all means, try to make sure that students have a solid foundational knowledge of form and usage of the present tense.
