This unit speaks about teaching productive skills, which are speaking and writing. even though both are different from each other, their main objective is the same; to communicate. The unit talks about how writing is the most neglected of the skills. Many teachers do not like quiet classrooms, therefore they send out homework which more often than not, is never done. Writing is more difficult then speaking since mistakes cannot be corrected on the spot. This unit talks about the reasons why students might want to speak or write. As teachers, we need to be very careful in our planning about what we want to accomplish in class, as well as what goals we want our students to achieve. Games in the classroom are also very effective when teaching, as they motivate our students to produce language freely and have fun doing it.
