For example, throughout the years I’ve learned that while standing in front of the class and speaking allows for excellent classroom control and focus, but I have never thought about it as dominating and or intimidating to some students.
I also found the section on classroom arrangement interesting. I’ve tried many different arrangements for my students. My experience has taught me that concise rows are excellent for the older students who are focused on studying, while the horseshoe is excellent from the younger students, who need more support from their peers and who shouldn’t be intimidated when it comes to learning English.
Overall, all the information provided in this section was extremely beneficial. I can honestly see myself using some of these techniques in my classroom not only to maintain rapport with my students but to help with some of the behavioral issues that come up on a continues basis, due to their age.
