This unit taught me about common problems and situations that I can encounter in the classroom and also the unit suggests ways of dealing with them. There are two kinds of classes. The new group, which is the kind of group where the students don't need to know each other and where some work will be needed to establish rapport between the class members. There is also the existing group where the students are already likely to know and be comfortable with each other. When I am in my first lesson I don't have to use the course book but I can use activities to establish rapport between the students, find out about the students, find out about the students'needs and aspirations with English etc.
