This unit teaches the importance of pronunciation as it plays an important role in the lessons. Pronouncing words that we are used to are not difficult, so it’s hard for us to understand the obstacles students might face. But in this unit I learned homographic words that are challenging for students. How to remember how each word is pronounced, and where to put the stress in a sentence, what tones to use correctly. Things that we have known for years might just come out naturally, but this unit helps me to think from a student’s viewpoint, and therefore be able to explain in a way that helps them to understand English language’s rules.
