In this Unit I have learned that Phonology is the study, science, analysis, and classification of the physical properties of sounds. I learned a lot from the areas of stress, rhythm and intonation, as well as concentrating on the International Phonetic Alphabet and its use in helping students to come to an understanding of the pronunciation of English. I also learned about techniques for indicating and teaching stress like contrasive stress, by gesture and by choral work.
