The content of unit 7 covers the four main areas in teaching a new language. These areas include exposure, meaning, construction and utilization. From the unit I have learned that these main areas are essential in all aspects of teaching the English language to a variety of age groups.
In unit 7 the section on Language Functions was the most beneficial, for myself, personally. I did not realize that inviting/refusing, agreeing/disagreeing and suggesting were in a category at all. However, however, after reading this particular section I’m fully aware of why they are considered part of a language function and how they need teaching and practice.
