This unit was all about how "musical" English can be. At least, that's how it made sense in my head. We stress certain syllables in some words versus others. Sentences have a rise and fall or a fall and rise. We emphasize certain words over others, and this can change based on where the person speaking is from and what they're trying to get across. A lot of the unit also focused on how we physically form the sounds and pronounce words. Not being from Great Britain, I found some of the pronounced words to be different, which I found fascinating. I thought the hardest part of the lesson was the phonemic symbols. They will take more practice and memorization.
