This unit teaches conditional sentences and reported sentences. These are both categories in English that are unique and difficult for non-native speakers. Though, arguably, even native speakers would struggle to explain WHY they use certain words or phrases, it just sounds "natural" to them. Both conditionals and reported speech have patterns that they follow, but it can seem abstract. Potentially, when teaching these in a classroom, it will take a lot of practice and time. I would not start mixing conditional until each was fully understood. Teaching reported speech will require advanced understanding of the present and past forms of verbs.
