This unit discussed modals, the passive voice, and phrasal verbs. As with deep grammar, some of it is much easier to understand than other parts. Most of this grammar will not be taught in a direct class setting, unless teaching more advanced students. It can be confusing and a bit nit-picky. These words/phrases should not be avoided in natural language, especially in the activate stages of class. If one is using authentic materials, the passive voice, modal verbs, and even phrasal verbs are used naturally.
