From this unit, i have learnt that receptive skills are as equally important as the productive skills. In teaching students about receptive skills, we have to equip them with new or unknown words and select texts that focus on what the students know and match with their current level. Therefore, they would be able to understand the text better while advancing their skills. While teaching students receptive skills, comprehension tasks are important. We as teacher need to help in promoting student's understanding about the text. In order to achieve that, certain factors we must consider such as using topics that are interesting to the student to build their interests before reading or listening, incorporate active phase to deepen their understanding and others.
