This unit taught the basics of how to teach vocabulary, grammatical structures, and language functions. It pointed out what the teacher needs to consider when choosing what vocabulary to teach and the basics of what should be taught to the students/what they need to know in order to learn the vocabulary properly. With the grammatical structure, this unit discussed the basics of what needs to be taught to the students. In the section on teaching language functions, the unit gave the basics of what a language function is and what the students need to know about them. Each section also provided a sample lesson in each teaching role of a typical class. I found this to be helpful in envisioning how I could even begin to teach some complicated ideas, such as language functions.
