This unit covers productive skills, these are speaking and writing. This are the skills the student needs in order to communicate. Teachers need their students to communicate in order to learn english and at times they may be reluctant to speak, due to various reasons including shyness, due to this the teacher must create an environment which the students feel supported, encouraged, be interested and have a need to communicate. The problems with writing are many, often the language is completely different from their own either in the formation of letters, punctuation, or even writing from left to right. there are two parts to productive skills these are accuracy and fluency, accuracy is more interested in the correct formation whilst with fluency it is an oportunity for students to try out their skills, creative writing is a good example of this. Games are an important tool for teaching these skills as there are many many games that can be adapted as well as being fun and enjoyed across all age groups.
