This unit covers the importance of the two receptive skills which are reading and listening. It says that reading is much easier than listening, for when a student is reading, he or she can take his or her time and look back over the text that is in front of him or her. However, listening often poses more of a challenge because the words are only spoken once, so the student has to process it all faster. The unit goes into different motives behind reading and different strategies to use to help students.
