In this unit I learnt about Conditionals & reported speech.
There are five main conditionals, including :Zero Conditional, First Conditional, Second Conditional, Third Conditional, Mixed Conditional. Learning these grammars are really not easy for students. they should know the Zero Conditional refers to actions and facts that are irrefutable. the First Conditional refers to a real situation in the future that is possible. the Second Conditonal is one of the most difficult grammar to understand. Although it uses past tense, but it refers to present or future 'unreal' hypothetical situation. Students should take time to do practice on this grammar. The Third Conditonal refers to a hypothetical past action and result. and Mixed conditional, students need to analyze the situation to use.
in the unit it taught us some teaching ideas to teach Conditional grammar, which really give me a good method to reference.
After that I learnt direct speech and reported speech. students should know how to change from direct speech to indirect speech. It is easy to make mistakes, because there are a number of changes need to be made. such as: verb tenses, patterns, Pronouns questions, time expressions. etc. Students should pay attention to these changes.
