In this unit we learned we use simple past to talk about something that happened in the past when the time is giving or to describe past facts or generalizations which are no longer true.
We use the past continuous to talk about what are things happening in the past with a specific time reference or to talk about interrupted action in the past.
Past Perfect is "the past in the past" or the past viewed from anotherr past view point.
We use past Perfect Continuous to show the duration of an event that happened in the past before another past action or show cause and effect of actions in the past.
