This unit explains the ways in which a teacher can teach a new language (English language in this case).
There are three main sectors important to teaching a new language; teaching vocabulary, introducing grammar, and teaching language functions .i.e. inviting, rejecting.etc. This unit covers the factors that might affect the teaching of vocabulary, what the students need to know about grammatical structures, and importance of activation of language when teaching language functions.
In addition, the unit puts forward the most suitable activities for ESA activities (Engage, Study, Activate) for each of the sectors mentioned above. It also provides an example ESA lesson according to each sector.
