In this unit, I learned a variety of ways to manage a classroom, including how to organize it, how to best attend to students' needs, and how to balance the amount of time that teachers and students should talk. I found the information oriented around discipline in particular to be beneficial, as it included situations to be mindful of and how it could best be implemented. For example, should I find myself in a situation where a student was not engaged or participating, I could first make sure that their basic needs were being met before addressing other factors. I think that the points mentioned in that section were particularly useful and will serve as a great reference going forward.
