In this unit, I learned about a variety of teaching methods, as well as how to structure a class using the "Engage, Study, and Activate" method. I was able to gain a better understanding of how to transition activities within a classroom using a combination of the model's components. For example, if I wanted to give a lesson on different animals, I could start the lesson by incorporating some type of activity meant to engage students, such as a video or a conversation on their favorite types of animals, followed by a study activity like completing a worksheet, and concluding with an activity focused on purchasing an animal. While I do believe that it is important for students to have the opportunity to communicate in their native or common language at times for clarification and representation purposes, I do believe that other components of this method are beneficial and I hope to be able to incorporate them into future lessons.
