This unit covers the different types of equipment and teaching aids in the classroom. Most people are familiar with whiteboards and OHPs but when it comes to language learning using cameras and voice recorders can be very helpful in analyzing students pronunciation. Using multiple types of equipment allows for more engagement and interest to be garnered from the students, which in turn helps them learn. The big take away from this lesson is that with any type of visual aid, white board, object, etc.. it is important to be organized and for students to be able to see the visual aid. Additionally for any technological equipment used, cassettes, video recorders, computers etc.. the teacher needs to test the equipment and make sure it works as well as students being able to see/hear the information presented.
