Unit 16: Conditions and Reported Speech began with discussing five types of conditionals (zero, first, second, third and mixed), including their form and their usages. These are hypothetical sentences, if this then that. The division of these categories is based on the tense of the two parts of the sentence, the “if” being one and the “then” being the other. The video for this unit contained a lot of useful teaching ideas for each conditional.
The other part of this unit explained how to convert direct speech into reported speech. This is something that is done when someone reports what someone else has said. When converting to reported speech many things need to be changed such as, the pronoun, the tense and the time frame (or expression). Again, many teaching ideas were provided and quite helpful.
