Unit 15: Evaluation and Testing covered the different categories of tests that can be given and the purpose of each. The majority of this unit described the five different test types (placement, progress, diagnostic, practice and external), when they should be given (before a class to place the student in a level, throughout the duration of the course to monitor their progress, practice tests for their final test etc). Examples of these tests were provided.
The other part of this unit listed the different types of external exams, and when each would apply. This section was useful in explaining which test the student may choose to take, based on their nationality, where they may want to work, and what they may need English for.
