This unit consisted of two main topics, the teachers and the learners. It outlined the different roles of teachers, and described the benefits that each provide. The video supplied examples from practical settings, showing how each can be useful.
More importantly, this unit broke down the different types (levels) of students, providing useful and concise classifications, including age, level of experience, motivation and behavior. This section of the unit was most valuable, for it depicted what type of students may be encountered, and what advantage or obstacles may be faced with each.
The two topics together, provided the information and tools that may be needed to help each type of learner learn. Example: An 'organizer' role might be most useful when trying to motivate younger learners that have short attention spans, because it's more fun. A 'tutor' role might be most effective for an upper intermediate level because they can tailor the lesson to the specific subtle items.
