This unit reflects pronunciation and phonology.One of the important parts of phonology is intonation.Normally the intonation pattern in a statement is rise/fall , which indicates the speaker has finished what he wants to say. Another intonation patter is fall/ rise, which means the speaker is expecting some respond or reaction from people he is talking to.And the third pattern is flat which indicates the speaker doesn't have that much to say or doesn't want to communicate at all.
