This unit carries information about teaching productive skills such as writing and speaking. I can absolutely agree with the opinion about speaking and writing being equally important skills with speaking requiring more fluency and writing requiring more accuracy.To develop students' speaking skills it's necessary to encourage them to speak by including such classroom activities as pair- and group -work ,by making speaking activities purposeful.Since speaking doesn't focus on language accuracy, it's important for teacher not to over correct students. As for teaching writing , there are such important factors to take into account as spelling,layout,penmanship and punctuation. As writing skills are often neglected in the classroom and left for homework activities, which is not always the right approach, the teacher has to encourage students to do some creative writing exercises.
