This unite talked about first lessons. How to make you're students feel welcome and to motivate them already from the start. You want to take the time to get to know them, and not dive into the books as soon as they arrive. There where several activities mentioned here in the unite such as hangman, or pass the ball, or memory games. There are different ways to deal with the different levels of the students. Some teacher choose to ignore this, but I would call that a bad teacher. You want the stronger once to develop and move forward at the same time as you help the weaker once up. A good way of doing this is pairing the weaker with the stronger to help them. This is a benefit for both the helper and the receiver of help.
A good teacher never force her, his students to participate, they help and motivate. You want to motivate them to speak English at all time and not they L1. If they don't understand the information given it means you need to go down in the level of English so they will understand.
