This unites is about conditionals, and they are divided into five different groups.The groups are zero conditionals, which is "if/when + present tense, present tense. First con. if + present simple, will, second con. if + past simple, would/ could/ might + base form, third con. if + past perf., would + have + past particle and last mixed con. if + past perfect, would + base from. I can't recall this from school so I had to really try to understand and remember these. It can be quite confusing, because 1st and 2nd conditional is quite alike and same goes for 3rd and mixed. But it's something that needs to be taught and remembered. It also gives teaching ideas on how to teach the students theses five different groups.
It also mention direct speech. When we talk to someone with direct speech we address what had just been told, while if there is some time passing it wouldn't be direct speech and we would change it to past tense.
