I believe I’ve gained a considerable amount from this course, from grammar to teaching skills. Until now, much of the english grammar I knew dated back from what I learned in grade school and I had a rather foggy idea of how to identify different tenses, parts of speech, let alone how to teach it. The grammar lessons put all this back into perspective. Meanwhile, the units dedicated to actual teaching methods and skills gave me a good idea of the kind of work and preparation a TEFL teacher does. I learned how to effectively prepare lesson plans and come up with creative activities to effectively teach students of varying levels. The numerous recommended websites and resource lists are much appreciated and will undoubtedly prove very helpful in future teaching jobs. Taking this course has made me re-evaluate how I go about tutoring Moroccan english students and gave me ideas on how to improve.
