This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Personally, it was great to get re-acquainted with grammar. It’s been a long time since I’ve studied or needed to work on any grammar! The course was certainly a lot more involved than I had expected as well. It was great to gain confidence in lesson planning. Again, it’s been a long time since I’ve had to do that! Lastly, it is the gaining of all the resources. I can use the lesson plans I’ve developed, but so many more need to be done. Resources for games, study, activate, and engage stage activities are going to be poured through as I start.
I have been working on this desire to teach in a foreign country since March this year. Over the last several years I’ve tried to make changes to push me in new directions. I’ve hit upon this one because I now realize I still have a huge number of choices in my life. I don’t need to do any one thing. I love learning and learning about a country in that country would be astounding! I have broad experience and a good command of english plus an enjoyment of helping other learn. I am deeply interested in the Pacific Rim. In fact, it would be totally awesome to go from China, to Korea, to japan and/or whatever other country would be available over the next 3+ years.
