I feel that I have learnt a lot from this course. Upon beginning the course, I had taught english in Cambodia for one week but felt very unprepared and out of my depth. Aside from that my teaching was extremely limited and so had very little prior knowledge.
I have learnt a huge amount about planning lessons and now feel confident to begin to plan classes for students of all abilities. Additionally, I have a newfound understanding of english. Though I am a native speaker, it was amazing how many grammar rules and concepts I had never previously encountered. I have also learnt a lot about teaching methods and equipment, as well as ideas such as managing behavior. I believe all of this will be hugely useful for me when I put this qualification into action.
I would like to in the future travel overseas, probably Asia, to teach english. I believe this will allow me to continue traveling and also do something worthwhile. I am interested in gaining paid work in countries like japan, and also possibly volunteering somewhere like thailand or vietnam, if the right opportunity presented itself.
