I will take away a lot from this course. Not only have I learned valuable information about teaching students of all ages, I’ve learned things about the english language that I never knew, like the names of all the different past, present, and future tenses. This course puts the english language in perspective for an english speaker about how difficult it must be to learn english as a second language, and makes me more sensitive to that fact as an instructor. As difficult as it was to plan lessons initially, making lesson plans has helped me to organize my thoughts about each unit, and will be useful should I chose to teach TEFL in a classroom or one-on-one.
I would like to use my tefl certification to teach english in another country, possibly thailand or somewhere in South America. I am a fan of TEFL on Facebook, and when I complete my degree, I plan to use this resource to find and obtain a job in another country, where I can teach and befriend non-english speakers to broaden their horizons, and my own.
