There is a lot of tools that a teacher can use in order to make the lesson engaging and communicative. Most of the schools provide teaching aid tools such as white or blackboard, overhead projector, Online resources, cassette recorder, DVD or CD player, video camera, course books, dictionaries, resource books, photocopiers, computers for teachers so that teachers could design worksheet and flashcards needed for their class and list of online resources for better teaching.
In using the black or whiteboard, a teacher must bear in mind that in using the board, it should be clean and the teacher must write legibly so that students can understand and can copy what was written on the board for their notes. The teacher should also put only important and necessary words on the board.
IWB or interactive whiteboard should be used with care because sometimes it does not work well so it would be better if there is a teacher's backup plan.
An overhead projector is a bit hard to set up but it will cut lesson preparation time for the teacher.
Visual Aids, worksheets, and work cards are also useful aids for teaching. Visual aids can prompt learners to think and talk about the pictures while worksheets and work cards could help the teachers to control the students learning in the Study stage.
Cassette recorder for enhancing students' listening skill, CD/DVD player, and Video recorders are can be used in recording activities for better assessment and evaluation. Dictionaries are helpful in looking for a word meaning. Course books are also useful for grammar learning. Resource books could be used as supplementary materials for teaching the language.
Photocopiers for photocopying written activities. Computers for searching online resources and helpful materials for the lesson.
