The focus of this unit is all about teaching present tense in an easy and effective way.The best way to let the learners understand the differences between present simple, present continuous, present perfect and present perfect continuous is to show the form and explain its use. In showing the form, it is good to show the affirmative first, then followed by negative and lastly, the question form.
examples:
simple present
What do you do every day?
affirmative: I drink milk every day.
negative: I do not drink wine every day.
question: Do you drink wine every day?
Present continuous
What are you doing now?
affirmative: I am studying English.
negative: I am not studying Spanish.
question: Are you studying English?
Present Perfect
What have you done today?
affirmative: I have read the book.
negative: I haven't read the book.
question: Have you read the book?
Present Perfect Continuous
What have you been doing today?
affirmative: I have been walking.
negative: I have not been walking.
question: Have you been walking?
