In this unit, I have learned different methodologies, techniques, and theories in language teaching.
The only way we could possibly say that that methodology is applicable to a learner if he/she could speak the language freely without any fear of being corrected because of grammatical errors.
Students should also be motivated, be exposed and must have an opportunity to use it. According to Jeremy Harmer, the best way that we could teach the learners is by using the elements of ESA, this is a series of components that point out different phases of the lesson. First Engage, this is a phase wherein teacher should be able to tease the mind of the learners into thinking using the target language by prompting. The study, the second phase wherein the teacher teaches and show vocabulary words that the learners could use. Finally, Activate phase, wherein students could apply everything that they have learned. At this final stage, the teacher should give the learners the freedom use the words and phrases into an actual conversation.
