This unit addressed productive skills: speaking and writing. It addressed the nuances of teaching each of these skills and how to present them to students in ways that are approachable and effective. I find that in my own classes, I tend to give speaking skills more precedence than writing. After studying this unit, I will be looking for ways to incorporate more writing time. Additionally, I realize that I also need to incorporate more free-speaking time in my lessons. Although I do have a nice warm-up/Engage phase, it would also benefit my students to have more time to creatively use the language on their own. I find that I'm beginning to have a more nuanced sense of the ESA lesson plan structure with the samples that have been given in the last few units. I hope to have a natural integration of this style into my current classes.
