Wow, I can't believe I was actually reading phonetic scripts, and making some sort of sense and logic with it, felt I was taking up latin..excellent teaching and review of phonetics, and the phonetic symbols, great lesson and unit, thank you very much TEFL!!! This has been most helpful and practical, and has definitely helped me to become more aware of actually being able to teach or present this stuff to my students. Students really do appreciate this teaching, which is obsolutely important for the students, they really enjoy this teaching of pronunciation, phonology and phonetics, as they themselves find it to be of extreme importance in language and in the right way to pronounce the language. I was aware of stress, intonation and even voiced or unvoiced sounds and the throat and all that, but actually teaching it is not so easy or practical, but important it is..and all teachers should take the time to present it and teach it.
