Sezela, KwaZulu Natal TESOL Online & Teaching English Jobs
This unit I've learned about productive skills. That is different from receptive skills. Productive skills is speaking and writing. In speaking we need to make the students talk and interact and sometimes this can be a problem if the student is shy and we need to work with them to give them encouragement to speak and lose the fear to speak and make mistakes in front of their classmates. And we also need to prepare a topic that it will get their attention and interest them so it will be easier for them to talk about it and give them confidence. Writing is also a problem because we need to compare with their native language, and work in the punctuation, also the different ways that we can write something, for example the difference of the language used to write an e-mail for your boss and an e-mail for a friend. Games also can help the students understand and practice grammar, vocabulary and speaking.
