This unit thoroughly covered the application of phonetics in the English language system. It also explained how important it is to understand phonology to know pronunciation in a deeper level. It also provided useful techniques teachers can use to teach students how to pronounce words. I thought it was also important to learn specific terminology for using specific sounds when pronouncing words. It was also helpful to learn the phonemic symbols because I can use that as a reference to looking up a word I wouldn't know how to pronounce.
