Among the methodologies from the book, Grammar-translation is the most widely known
and practiced. It is very traditional way of teaching in many countries especially in Asian
culture. If the teacher is proficient in students’ native language, it could be one of the most
efficient methods for teachers and students. Audio-lingualism is about listening and
repetition. By keeping repeating, students can learn English as a habit. It is little dated
method of teaching due to its low efficiency and limitation. Presentation, Practice and
Production is more teacher-centered method; a teacher explains, demonstrate, and let
students practice and obtain new word or grammar. It is a fixed and controlled way, which
allows less flexibility of class.
