A teacher should approach their job with an open mindset as they need to be able to adapt to whatever assignment they may take on. Whether they are going to be working with young learners or teaching business English. By approaching with an open mindset, it allows plenty of room for flexibility between the teacher and the students that they are going to be working with during the class time. In the case of working with young learners, a teacher can predict that they will have to keep the lessons mixed with numerous different activities in order to maintain the students attentions at all times. If they walk in with an open mindset, they can quickly adapt if a specific lesson may not be catching the children's attentions as they had originally planned. Whereas when working with business English students, you may run across the problem of the students becoming tired relatively quickly along with lacking focus and attention to what is being taught. A teacher then has to adapt by making the lesson more interesting to gain the focus and attention back on task. Walking in with that open mindset, allows for quicker transitions to maintain the smoothness of a lesson plan.
