Maintaining a balance between the usage of created and authentic material as coursework for students will allow for consistent productivity within the classroom. By relying too heavily on either one of the materials, there maybe too many negative outcomes that can lead to the students not meeting their expectations of success. Meanwhile creating a balance between the two course materials will allow for each student to access their full potential while learning. If the teacher relies too much on the authentic material, such as coursebooks, those students who may have difficulties within certain areas of the language will suffer more. This would be due to how coursebooks are created for a general audience. Due to this, there is no major focus on parts that a specific student may need assistance on, thus making them fall back within the class. Created material, makes up for where the authentic material lacks and vice versa. A major key with created material is that you can make the work different for each student. That same student who was struggling because the coursebook could not help them, will now be able to strive ahead because the created material will highlight those problem areas and explain how to get past what is making that area so problematic for them.
