Utilizing a lesson plan can create a space to organize the ideas that you want to utilize in a specific lesson. By having everything written out in front of you, it will allow you to go over the time frames that need to be allotted for specific activities while also maintaining some room for flexibility. Something that does need to be worked on when creating a lesson plan is making sure that there is always room for flexibility, making sure that the schedule for the day is not rigid and leaves room for improvements. For some lessons students may need a longer time frame in order to learn a specific section or an activity may not need as much time as you had originally thought. Leaving room for events such as those to happen allows for a teacher to not be as stressed if they are unable to get to something else they had planned for that day or for there not to be confusion with trying to come up with another activity with too much down time in between. Not only does utilizing a lesson plan allow for this but it creates a record that can easily be accessed at any time to see when a specific subject was discussed within the classroom. Maintaining this record makes it easier to go back at anytime to see if there is any subject that students may have had a harder time with and thus requires further review or if it is possible to move even further along within that particular subject.
