Tricky?yes, modal verbs are very tricky and confusing too and so are the phrasal verbs.I have come to notice that everything in grammar draws back to tenses.Students should be given lots of practice through various activities to help with memorizing rules that differentiate various modals and phrasal verbs. Its hard but easy at the same and definitely keeps everyone on their toes. This unit covers the importance of teaching students reading and listening skills. Similarly, it makes the distinction between listening just to listen, and listening to hear and understand. Both skills can coincide nicely with one another in a students learning of a language.
